How to keep working on your digital marketing during Covid-19

I've had a lot of questions about what to do next in your business whether you are still trading have been forced to close or are trading at a reduced level it's hard to navigate what to do next.

Here are some tips to help you get through your social media and digital marketing.

Continue to post on social media. You don't want to lose followers or traction in your social media strategy. People are spending more time online - although keep in mind its very spread out through the day & night.

If you are still trading:

• Update your followers on what changes have been made to your business to be compliant with any new regulations - you want to show that you are up to date and following all health precautions.

• Continue to offer value in your post's, help people fix their pain points and showcase your products/services. The value that your are offering and the pain points you are fixing may have been drastically changed in recent weeks.

• Offer a discount if it's financially viable to you.

• If you invoice clients consider offering longer payment terms or payment plans to encourage people to book with you. If you have an online tore consider Afterpay or alike. Again see if it's financially viable for you.

• Be open to DM's as people become savvier with their money I expect to see people asking more questions about products and services before committing.

If you have closed:

• Continue to post on social media! Offer lots of value! There are still lots of things you can post about. You can use social media as mini blog posts. Talk about things in your industry, offer value about your products and service so people really know all about your business when you re-open. When things do go back to "normal" you want to be the first business in someone's mind.

• If you can take any elements of your business online consider it. It is also important to consider the costs associated with this - will the costs be more than covered by going online. In many cases, you might have been considering going online anyway! Now is the time, you'll have the time to really decide what you want and how to carry it out.

• Keep in mind its a financially hard time for everyone so if you do go online and don't get the sales you are expecting. Keep in mind

1. It takes time to build an online presence, show on google and start making sales.

2. People are being very cautious with their money during this time.

• Now is the time to nail your social media strategy - plan posts, engage with you ideal client, be community-based.

• Work on your website, SEO, blog content, re-branding and anything else that has been on your to-do list!

Open & Closed:

• Have fun! Try out Tik Tok and post it on your insta.

• Show the love to local pages as much as you can! Help build a strong online support community to Perth small businesses.

Feeling flat? It's okay to switch off, It's okay to take a social media break. Do what feels right for you! Some days you might post a few times, be inspired and spend a lot of time on the gram, other days you might switch off. Social media isn't more important than your mental and emotional health.
